Raise the Title of Liberty...AGAIN!

Hi my name is Kathy, I would like to thank you for your interest in the Moroni's flag, and for visiting our web-site.

While attending the gospel doctrine glass, on August 16th of 2008 and studying from the Book of Mormon, in Alma, chapter 46, the verses where Captain Moroni rented his coat and wrote upon it the "Title of Liberty", and caused a banner to be hoisted from every tower in the land, a very strong impression came upon me that it was time to hoist Moroni's flag AGAIN!

Right away I began to search the internet for a "Title of Liberty" flag that was for sale. There were none to be found. Next I searched for pictures of Moroni that would look nice on a flag. That's when I came in contact with a well known professional artist Joseph Brickey. As it turned out I contacted him at just the right time…as he was near the end of a contract negotiation with his publisher, and was able to let us use his picture of Moroni free of charge. All he asked was for a flag when they were produced. I will always be grateful to Joseph and his wife Angela for their support.

I am also grateful for my son in-law, who designed the flag and was inspired to add the shield of faith, and the sword of truth. He has also spent many hours programming this web-site.

But first and foremost I am grateful for Heavenly Father, and his son Jesus Christ (my teacher) for consecrating my time and efforts with this project. I know that my teacher has helped me each step of the way.

I know this is a calling, to produce, market, and fly Moroni's flag again.

In these the last days, we are facing the same trials upon this land as Moroni did. Had you been in the days of Moroni, would you have rallied around the title of liberty then? If so…come forward in faith and strength, and stand for these principles of truth.....fly your flag today!

The day we raised this flag “Moroni’s Title of Liberty” (for the first time).
I had planned a simple ceremony, with a song, prayer and a scripture story from the book of Helamen, about Captain Moroni. We invited our extended family members to join us, keeping it small and intimate. Just about a half hour before the flag raising the spirit of contention entered our home, with such a force that I sat on my couch in tears, and feelings that I could not do this today. I wanted it to be a very special moment, and the spirit was gone. That’s when my niece came to me to share a dream she had the night before. She said “that she dreamt that my mother (who passed away two years ago) stood behind me with her hands placed upon my head, blessing me with encouragement, telling me that everything would be alright”. My niece said that I did not notice my mother there, but I would reach up to touch my head”. When she shared this dream with me, I was strengthen and knew that we could proceed with the raising of the flag.

A night of great discouragement
Just a couple of nights after raising the flag for the first time, I was at my computer looking at pictures of the flag flying to use on the web-site. That’s when some powerful negative thoughts entered my mind. Thoughts like …who do you think you are to raise the Title of Liberty again....You’re no one special… …look at your picture you’re not even beautiful….What gives you the right! Wow; that was hard, and with a heavy heart I retired to my bed. The following morning, I arose just before sunrise, and went outside to raise the flags, then I went into my home and turned on the CD player, a song by Afterglow came on “Warriors of Light”. As I stood on my front porch, listening to the words of that powerful song, watching the flags fly, as the sun came up, I had the most wonderful feelings come over me, and I knew that raising the Title of Liberty again, was the right thing for me to do. Please notice the picture of the flags flying on this web-site. I took that picture on that same morning. I consider it a gift to remind me of the experience I had that day. And to remind me that I can and should continue to work on raising Moroni's Title of Liberty again.

The song "Warriors of Light" as mentioned earlier, really touched my heart that morning, and held such a powerful message for the Title of Liberty. I searched the internet for the artists of the song, and learned it was performed by "Afterglow" I googled for an email address and found one, and sent off a message, introducing myself, the design of the flag, and our mission to raise it again. Kevin Peay of Afterglow contacted me that very evening, stating that he never checks the email address that I sent the message too, and that he was surprised it was still active. He said that he had an impression to check it out, and surprise; there was my message that came in that very day! Kevin said that his family had in the past raised their own home made Title of Liberty flag, and when they did, that they would also play the "Warriors of Light" song. Kevin has given us permission to add a link to our website so our customers can upload the song, for use when they raise their own flags. Thanks Kevin for sharing your gift of music with us, and for the inspiration it will give to all of us who come forward in strength and raise the Title of Liberty...again.

“The Sword of Truth” this part of the journey is a bit embarrassing and humbling. For the sword of truth we went to available clip arts for the design. After printing up 500 flags, (our first order) it was brought to our attention that the sword we used was one from the Lord of the Rings, I was devastated, embarrassed and I cried! …But now I am so grateful to Robert Marck for bringing this to our attention, and for his knowledge of swords. Robert Marck is a designer of LDS Swords. Notice that the handle of the sword is a replica of the Salt Lake Temple door handle. You can check him out at www.LDS-Swords.com. Robert gave us permission to use his sword of truth on the “Title of Liberty”, free of charge also! . I am so grateful that Robert found us in the beginning. (Another person, at the right time.) Thank you Robert!

Be sure to return soon....there is more to the story of raising Moroni's Title of Liberty...AGAIN
